Wood Blinds - Create the Perfect Window Coverings with Wood Blinds

Wood blinds are the perfect window covering for any and all windows in your home. Adding wood blinds to your home adds an atmosphere of simple classic style with accessories that are durable as well as stylish.

The durability of wood blinds is one of the features that make them so popular. Wood blinds are very long-lasting. This is one reason that they are more expensive than other types of blinds. But the cost in this case does reflect quality. Wood material in itself holds up well for many years. Consider all of the furniture that is made of wood and how long it lasts. It is no wonder that wood has become popular for making window blinds as well.

Wood is one material that has never gone out of style for décor and furniture items, and for that matter, it will never go out of style. Wood blinds, like wood furniture pieces, come in many different styles, textures, and colors. Many different types of wood are used to make wood blinds, which contributes to the different look that different blinds can provide. For example, oak wood blinds provide a light brown warm color and a texture that is relatively smooth. Mahogany wood blinds provide a rich, deep reddish brown color. Wood blinds are a very versatile window covering, since they go well in just about any room of your home. Their style is simple enough that is fits in with any decorating style, from modern to country to rustic to traditional.

Measure Your Window for Verticals and Horizontal blinds, Wood blinds, Faux Wood Plantation Shutters

Here are five important things to remember.

1. Use a steel measuring tape

2. Measure to the nearest eighth of an inch - don't round your measurments.

3. On your notes, clearly indicate which measurment is the width and which is the height. It is very common to transpose measures. Please note width first, then height.

4. Do NOT take any deductions for an inside mount. Our factory takes those allowances. You need to provide us with your exact window size opening

5. You need to provide the exact overall blind size needed for an outside mount. Our factory makes all outside mount blinds the exact width you specify.

Choose Inside or Outside Mount:

Before taking any measurements, step back from your window and decide if you want to mount the window treatment inside the window recess or outside on the wall or moulding. For an inside mount, the window opening must have enough unobstructed depth to allow mounting.

Tip: For a flush inside mount (the blind completely recessed so that no part of the blind projects out of the opening) check that you have enough depth and make sure you request the valances be made the same width as blind since they are normally made an inch or two wider.

Tip: We usually recommend an inside mount when possible because it provides a cleaner look. However, an outside mount can make a window appear larger or hide an unattractive window. When you specify inside mount, we will make a size deduction to allow for operating clearance. We will deduct up to 1/4" from each side (on vertical blinds there is also a height deduction of 1/4"). The deductions are made so that the blind will not rub or scratch your window frame. If you specify an outside mount, we will not take any size deductions. When measuring, don't be surprised if your windows aren't square, it probably won't be noticeable.

Sunroom Blinds

If you're concerned that you won't have enough privacy from all the glass that surrounds you in your sunroom then you will be happy to find there are many kinds of sunroom blinds you can buy. Maybe the answer to this problem would be screened line blinds. This is an amazing system of blinds that are permanently sealed in a double glazing cavity. Once these blinds are sealed in their units they will give you a totally dust free environment. They require no cleaning and always appear like new and also include many shading features.

These blinds have been on the market for many years, but it is only now that they are specifically developed for domestic replacement windows. They use the same technology that has been used in prestigious building projects. They work on the principle of a blind that is sealed in a double glazed unit and once they are sealed they are protected from contaminants and dust which adds elegance to any sunroom that you might have.

These blinds are available in many colors and you have a choice when you order whether you either purchase a Venetian blind or pleated one. There are external controls so you can use these blinds easily and the full blind is color-coordinated. The movement of the blind is controlled by a magnetic concept in the operating system. This is done by installing rotating magnets were one of the magnets is placed inside the cavity and the other is connected outside which controls the movement of the blind. This ensures that the seals around the unit are not affected in any way and the lifespan of the magnets are over a hundred years.

So if you're looking for blinds for a sunroom this would be the ideal choice. This type of blind is long wearing and maintenance free, which would make it the ideal thing to have your windows to give you the privacy that you're looking for in a sunroom. When you need to let the sunshine in all you have to do is open then.
